Improving food and livelihood access - South Sudan

With funding provided through the Australian Humanitarian Partnership, World Vision is reaching vulnerable famine-affected populations in South Sudan. Households have been provided with fishing kits (6000 distributed), agricultural hand tools (hoes, watering cans, treadle pumps) and seeds such as maize, cassava and sweet potato. Farmers now have increased knowledge of improved agricultural practices and fisher folk have been trained in improved fishing practices. This project will ensure that at least 50 per cent of the trained farmers are women.

In 2017, World Vision received $4.5 million through the AHP for their South Sudan famine response. The length of this response is April 2017 - October 2018.
